As a responsible corporate citizen, giving back to the society is a culture sowed more than three decades back by our Founder Chairman, Indravadan Modi. Under the aegis of our charitable institution – Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, we empower the needy with better community health, access to quality education and improved livelihood opportunities. Our CSR aims to be relevant to local, national and global contexts and implemented in partnership with government, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.

With a sustainable development-centric approach, we always ensure active participation of all stakeholders in need identification, programme planning and execution as well. Cadila employees are also encouraged for giving their time, experiences and expertise to serve communities.

To pursue these objectives, Cadila undertakes many CSR activities in the larger interest of the community, and especially in the area of health, education, rural development, women empowerment and environment.

Projects of CSR for The Financial Year 2024-25

Health & Hygiene Projects

This year Indrashil-Kaka Ba and Kala-Budh Public Charitable Trust aims to serve more than 5000 patients OPD consultations, surgeries, medical camps etc. for various ailments at various locations at Ahmedabad, Bharuch and Mehsana districts in Gujarat and Samba District in Samba, Jammu & Kashmir The treatments will be done totally free, at highly subsidizes rates under PM JAY scheme of the Government of India, We are also planning to conduct 21 health check camps in villages aiming to benefit 10,000+ individuals., The camps will be include multispecialty health checkups, anemia and malnutrition screening and treatment, breast cancer screening of at least 100 women, consultation and treatment of 3000 + students during dental camps in seven schools.

We are further planning to construct Nursing Home at Devala for Community Health services.

Livelihood/ Financial inclusion/Social Security

Through our collaboration with Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), we are planning to empower 25000+ women, adolescent girls and unserved communities by setting up SEWA Shakti Kendras (SSKs) in 15 villages in Ahmedabad and Bharuch Districts. The services of SSKs will include Group Education, Door to Door Education, Health linkages, Social security linkages,

Exposure visits, School dropout issues, support in availing government documents, and livelihood opportunities for the needy communities.

Looking at the spread of life style diseases in rural areas, this year we are adding one more initiative under SSK activity for screening of blood pressure and diabetes patients. More than 5000 individuals will be screened under this initiative in 15 villages and needy will be educated and referred for the treatment in various government hospitals.

We are also planning to launch project LEARNT- Livelihood Enchantment Through Agro Rural and Novel Technology in IIT Guwahati, which will address the issue of malnutrition in Anganwadi kids in Hansot taluk in Bharuch district, Gujarat.

Environment

We are planning for the plantation of 75000 saplings at community, public and CPL locations, construction of 21 toilets in six villages, four cattle and three agree seminars for farmer community in Bharuch and Ahmedabad district.

Education Projects

We are planning to provide skill training for 200+ tribal girls at Kaka Ba skill center and distribution of 2100 school bags in 36 schools in Ahmedabad and Bharuch districts of Gujarat.

With an objective of providing clarity on suitable career option to the secondary and higher secondary students, we will be organizing six career guidance seminars in Hansot block in association with Indrashil University enabling them to choose best career option.

Agriculture and Animal Husbandry

We are planning to organize cattle camps in Bhat, Kasindra and Rajpur village for treatment and vaccination for animal health and milk yield improvement including medication and deworming of cattle.

Community Infrastructure

We are planning to improve village infrastructure by constructing compound wall, arranging water facility and tree plantation at Crematorium, RRC road, Toilets and support to PHC (Primary Health Center) in Bhat, Hansot, Dholka, Hirapur and Rajpur village.

Support to Mid-Day meal to improve nutrition and attendance and reduce school drop out

With an aim of improving health, nutrition and school attendance and enrollment, we will continue to support Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme in 34 Government schools in rural areas of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts. We are supporting this project since the year 2018. We project to serve 11.50 Lakhs Meals in the year 2024-25.
