5 June, Ahmedabad: Pharma major Cadila Pharmaceuticals celebrated World Environment Day on June 5 by undertaking a tree plantation drive at its Dholka manufacturing campus and other facilities across the country.
Employees of Cadila Pharmaceuticals planted 620 saplings across various campuses to mark the occasion to create awareness about the environment. 150 saplings were planted in Dholka and 100 at Bhat in Ahmedabad. A hundred saplings were also planted in the campus of Indrashil University and Cadila Pharma’s Ankleshwar facility. Sapling plantation was also undertaken in Kaka-Ba Hospital and Jammu, among other places.
To contribute towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of making India Clean and Green, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, on June 5, 2019 had taken a pledge to plant 1 lakh trees in 1,000 days. However, in just 365 days, the pharma major has already planted 79,000 saplings at its various campuses, besides villages and schools in the vicinity of its facilities. Apart from planting of saplings, Cadila Pharma is also raising awareness in schools and villages regarding environment and how our intervention is extremely important to reduce the impact of human activities on nature.
“We have been conducting various tree plantation drives at various locations, and especially schools in a bid to raise awareness about the environment’s importance. We are also raising awareness in rural areas to help them realize their responsibility. With 79,000 saplings already planted, we plan to reach our goal very soon,” said Mr. B. V.
