During these trying times, mental wellbeing can take a backseat. Every year, on October  10, the world celebrates Mental Health Day to raise awareness about the importance of a happy mind for personal and professional growth. In a world where everyone is focused on caring for their bodies, we often forget about the health of our minds. On World Mental Health Day, we ask some of the doctors to share tips to keep our minds happy.

“In these times, a strong immunity is very important. Apart from a strong body, you need a strong mind too to keep ourselves healthy. Do not ignore any symptoms such as sadness, stress, insomnia etc. and consult a psychiatrist immediately” says Dr Amrita Shah, from Vadodara.

“In today’s day, no one is talking about the captain of the body, our mind which controls each body’s cell, right from head to toe. As you consult a doctor for your physical problems, don’t be embarrassed in talking to a psychiatrist for your mind” shares Dr Samyak Tiwari.

“We often confuse diseases such as panic disorder syndrome and addiction as physical problems but actually the root cause is linked to our brains which needs the attention of a professional psychiatrist” shared Dr Kaushal Shah, Jamnagar.

“If mental disorders are not addressed at the right time, it can lead to major problems such as suicide. We have to make sure that these people get help at the right time so that they can also lead a healthy life” shared Dr Abhinav Shrivastav from Gorakhpur.

On this World Mental Health Day, let’s pledge to give the right kind of support to all patients suffering from mental disorders and reduce the taboo around it.
